Sega Road L.P. School and Ram Lal Paul High English School, Imphal; secured
Second Position of Gauhati University in the Matriculation Examination, 1963.
MBBS(1970) from Kakatiya Medical
College, Warangal (Osmania University); MS (General Surgery) from the Institute
of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi(1975). Passed the
National Board Examination in General Surgery, and admitted to the National
Academy of Medical Sciences (1982). Fellow of the International College of
Surgeons, India Section and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Life time achievement award for
contributions in the field of Surgical Science in the North-East, conferred by
the Association of Surgeons of Assam in October, 2000 at Hojai, by delivering
the Late Dr. G.P. Sarma Memorial Oration on “ Management of Rectal Prolapse”.
Delivered Prof. Kh. Jatiswar Singh Oration in All Manipur Medical Conference in
December, 2001 at Imphal on “Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer”.
Received Best paper award in
FICS Conference at Calcutta, October 17, 1987 for a Symposium on “Nutritional
Support System in Critical Care n Surgery”.
