ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
|
|
|
|
(i)
A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks or it equivalent
grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grade O,A,B,C,D,E & F
from a recognized University.
|
|
|
|
(ii)
Ph.D. or equivalent qualification.
|
|
|
|
(iii)
Total experience of 10 years of Teaching and Research in
Universities/Colleges and other institutions of higher education.
|
|
|
|
NOTE
:
|
|
|
|
1.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks
at the Master’s level for SC/ST category.
|
|
|
|
2.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% of the marks to the
Ph.D. Degree holders who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to
19th September, 1991
.
|
|
|
|
3.
B in 7 point scale with letter grade O,A,B,C,D,E & F shall be
regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed.
|
|
|
|
4.
The minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon for
existing incumbents who are already on regular basis, in the University
System.
|
|
|
|
5.
Qualifications for direct recruitment of Principal will be
governed by qualifications laid down by University Grants Commission
from time to time. However, any amendment by the UGC in regards to
qualifications of the posts of Principal will not be applicable once the
advertisement for direct recruitment to these posts has been made by
MPSC.
|
|
|
|
N.B.:
|
|
|
|
1.

2.
The number of posts may be increased or decreased according to
actual requirement.
|
|
3.
Closing date for issue/receipt of application form and
determining age will be 30.07.2005.
|
|
4.
Age 35 years and above.
|
|
5.
The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and mere
possession of the same does not entitle a candidate to be called for
interview or short listing. Where the number of applications
received in response to the notifications is large, the
Commission may restrict the number of the candidates for interview to a
reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher
than the minimum prescribed in the notification.

6.
The application shall be accompanied by a crossed Bank Draft of
Rs. 60/- for general and Rs. 15/- for SC/ST candidates drawn in favour
of the Secretary, Manipur Public Service Commission payable at Imphal.
|
|
7.
The decision of the Commission as to the eligibility or otherwise
of the candidate will be final.
|
|
8.
Loss/delay due to postal service will not be the responsibility
of the Commission and no claim on such matter will be entertained under
any circumstances.
|
|
9. Three copies of candidates recent
passport size photograph along with the required certificates from
Matriculation onwards to be authenticated by the candidates themselves
alongwith a self addressed stamped envelope of Rs. 5/-(size 27cm X 12
cm) and postage stamp of Rs. 5/- for acknowledgement Card affixed
thereon should be submitted with the application by the candidates.

The prescribed application form is obtainable on cash payment of
Rs. 20/- at the Commission’s counter or by remitting
Money Order to the Secretary, Manipur Public Service Commission,
Imphal-795001 with self addressed stamped envelope of 27 cm X 12 cm
size.

Recruitment of 25(twenty five ) posts of Principals of Government
Colleges (Reader’s Grade) in the Department of University and Higher
Education, Manipur. The post is Class-I Gazetted. 22(twenty two) posts
are permanent, 3(three) posts are temporary but likely to become
permanent. 15(fifteen) posts are unreserved, 9(nine) posts are reserved
for S.T., and 1(one) post is reserved for S.C.
